Johanna Martinez // Owner & Stylist
Johanna relocated to Wilmington from Long Island, New York, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the beauty industry. With a career that began in 2003, she has honed her skills and developed a true love for making her guests feel beautiful.
Specializing in a wide range of services, including working with fine and thick hair, blonding, color correction, men’s cutting, trend cutting, and bridal styles, Johanna is known for her extensive cut and color training. She is committed to continuous learning and regularly attends classes with industry leaders like Paul Mitchell and Redken to stay ahead of the latest hair trends and techniques.
She is committed to creating a welcoming, uplifting environment where both clients and staff feel valued and inspired. By prioritizing an exceptional customer experience, Johanna ensures that every visit to the salon is memorable and enjoyable.
Above all, Johanna strives to ensure that every guest leaves her chair feeling their absolute best, with a look that makes them feel confident and beautiful.
Jenny Rojas // Manager & Stylist
Jenny is an manager here at Tanglez, and has been a part of our Tanglez family since 2016. She has always had a passion for making her clients look and feel their absolute best.
She strives to create a hairstyle that will compliment and enhance your beauty! As a curly girl, her specialties include crafting haircuts for curly hair, layered cuts and short styles.
Along with haircutting, balayage is one of Jenny’s favorite services. Creating a color you will love is her specialty. You will not regret sitting in her chair to receive one of here famous scalp massages!
Her education includes attending the Redken Exchange in New York City. She also has attended classes hosted by nationally ranked L’ANZA artists. Jenny continues her education to provide the best services for her guests!
Charles Prest // Manager / Stylist / Colorist /Extensions Specialist
Charles is a manager here at Tanglez and an artist who has developed his passion for hair beginning in California and continuing in New York City as a master stylist and colorist. He is licensed in three states and has been working in the industry for over a decade as well as holding two bachelors degrees in science.
Charles has worked as an educator and has had extensive cut and color training and specializes in blonding, artistic/block coloring, color correction, color beautification, men’s cutting, hair extensions and working with fine hair types. His techniques provide cutting edge styles that have a more natural and organic flow.
He believes that by knowing the biology of hair and the chemistry of hair products, it is possible to apply these sciences to give your hair the healthy integrity you deserve to have. It is his goal to make sure your hair looks and feels just as amazing as you are.
Amy Marro // Stylist
Amy moved to the Wilmington area from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She had been in the hair industry since 2009, and has extensive training with multiple color lines and new techniques. She specializes in foil highlighting and low lighting, Keratin Smoothing Treatments, Tape-In Extensions, and updo styles. She loves to learn, and keeps up with the newest trends. When Amy isn’t working behind the chair and making her guests smile, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son.

Brandy Tomcany // Stylist
Brandy has been in the hair industry since 2005 and has found an immense passion in caring for every single guest. She feels strongly that beauty isn’t just about the process of putting color pallets together or the act of cutting hair, but the ability to transform a women’s self image. Brandy has attended numerous Lanza Healing Hair Color workshops to perfect her skills in hair coloring, specifically focusing on balayage highlighting and grey covering. Her ability to make her guests feel right at home along with her expertise in hair color, is what has earned her such a loyal following.

Donnie Canady // Stylist
Donnie began his career in the beauty industry in 1982. As an ambitious new hair stylist he earned the opportunity to travel throughout the United States and Canada with platform Kenra artist, Robert Melton. In his travels he assisted the hosting of many educational, coloring, cutting and technique classes. After building his foundation as an advanced color and cutting specialist he managed numerous privately owned salons in Independence Mall in Wilmington NC as well as his own.
Denise Carver // Spray Tan Technician

Denise has just recently been voted “Best Spray Tan in Wilmington” by Focus on the Coast. She has been doing Sunless-Spray Tanning for over five years and loves it. Denise prides herself in making clients feel as comfortable as possible. Spray Tanning is a great way to achieve that “just off the beach” glow without all of the harmful effects from the sun or tanning bed. All it takes is just a few minutes; it’s quick-drying, natural and will last seven to twelve days. Radiant supple bronzed skin is only one spray away!
Madi Barrows // Stylist/Colorist
I am new to the Tanglez team as of 2023! I was born here in Wilmington, and have been in love with the beauty industry since I was a little girl. Doing hair is in my family and I'm exited to carry on the tradition. I specialize in color and blondes! I also love curly hair and all the products to make every curl looks it's best. I love to learn new techniques and skills! When I'm not doing hair I enjoy spending time with my pup and doing crafts! I aspire to make you feel as confident you ever have in your new hair!

After taking a brief two year move back home..she is back! Her favorite job is being a mother of 4 beautiful children.
